A vintage movie poster of ''Go West'', a comedy film released in 1940, starring the Marx Brothers, one of the most iconic comedy teams in the history of American cinema. The film was directed by Edward Buzzell and produced by Harry Tugend. It marked the Marx Brothers' fifth film for MGM.
In "Go West," Groucho Marx plays the character of S. Quentin Quale, while Chico Marx portrays Joe Panello, and Harpo Marx plays Rusty Panello. The story revolves around Groucho's character, who decides to travel out west to make his fortune during the American frontier era.
As the brothers journey westward, they become embroiled in various misadventures, including encounters with Native Americans, cattle rustlers, and a corrupt landowner. Groucho's character tries his hand at various jobs, including a failed attempt at being a sheriff. Meanwhile, Chico and Harpo become involved in a scheme to save a struggling ranch from foreclosure.
