Plot Summary:
"Ali Baba Goes to Town" opens in the fictional Middle Eastern kingdom of Ballygosh, where the bumbling and down-on-his-luck entertainer, Al Babson, portrayed by Eddie Cantor, is struggling to find work. By a twist of fate, Al finds himself in possession of a magic lamp that contains a genie.
Upon rubbing the lamp, Al releases the genie, who offers to grant him three wishes. Al's first wish is to become a famous and wealthy movie star, and he is transported to Hollywood, California.
