Artist's Description

Illustration of Al Pacino, born in 1940, is a leading American actor and filmmaker whose career spans over fifty years. He began studying method acting in 1966 when he was selected to study in Lee Strasberg's Actors Studio in New York.

He gained immediate notice for his first starring role as a heroin addict in "The Panic in Needle Park" (1971). He achieved international fame from his breakthrough role as Michael Corleone in Francis Ford Coppola's "The Godfather" (1972), which earned him his first Oscar nomination. He would reprise the role in the sequels "The Godfather Part II" (1974) and "The Godfather Part III" (1990).

Pacino also received Oscar nominations for Best Actor for "Serpico" (1973), "Dog Day Afternoon" (1975), followed by "And Justice for All" (1979). For his role of a blind military veteran in "Scent of a Woman "(1992), he won an Academy Award.
